Kensington
Railway Museum
The third railway station built on the island
was built with an eye to longevity. The building was widely recognized
as one of the most elaborate stations in the province. Over the
last few years, the station has been extensively renovated and return
to its original glory. The museum's collection includes rolling
stock, CNR artifacts and a working model of the early Kensington
rail yards. During the summer months the freight shed houses a farmers
market and the gazebo is often hopping with live entertainment.
Location: Kensington is located in Prince County in the western
portion of Prince Edward Island, NE. of Summerside. It is 48 Km
from Charlottetown and 23 Km from Cavendish.
